Directions
Directions & arrivals
There are a number of ways you can get to La Torre Golf Resort, depending on where you’re coming from. This page has some details on directions to the Costa Calida and information for new arrivals.
By air
The Murcia region is served by two airports, both operated by Aena, the Spanish state department that operates the majority of airports in the country.
- Murcia-San Javier Aiport: If you are planning your vacation with us in the Costa Calida area, the Airport of Murcia San Javier would be the ideal arrival and departure destination. It handles international flights and offers other facilities such as regional transport and car hire. The airport is actually 45 km away from Murcia itself. While small in comparison to other airports in the region, it has developed significantly over the last few years.
- Alicante Airport: If you are unable to use Murcia-San Javier Airport then you might want to consider Alicante Airport, which has many more international connections especially during the summer months. It is the main airport for both the Alicante and Murcia regions. In 2010 it handled over 9 million passengers making it the 6th busiest airport in Spain.
By public transport
Public transport is quite limited in the Murcia region with only a few bus services running from Murcia-San Javier airport during the day. Car hire and taxis are the best options given the distance from La Torre to the airport.
By taxi
Taxi services are active at both airports. Below is a rough guide on costs for travel from Murcia-San Javier to local desintations around the Costa Blanca and Costa Calida:
Destination | Prices |
Murcia: | €60 – €70 |
Cartagena: | €40 – €50 |
La Manga del Mar Menor: | €60 – €70 |
Torrevieja: | €45 – €50 |
La Torre: | €35 – €40 |
By car
Murcia-San Javier and Alicante airports both offer car hire services. Alicante has more options than Murcia due to its size. The sites below give more information about car rentals in Murcia:
If you’re arriving in the summer, we recommend booking your car before you arrive at the airport!
The directions below take you from either airport to Junction 782 on the AP7 motorway, and from there to La Torre.
Directions from Alicante Airport to Junction 782:
- Follow the signs for Cartagena and follow the A7/E15 motorway towards Murcia/Cartagena.
- Take Exit 77 onto AP7 signposted Torrevieja, Cartagena.
- There are two tolls, costing €2.85 each.
- Continue through the two tolls until JUNCTION 782 MURCIA, SUCINA (C3319) turn off right.
Directions from Junction 782 to La Torre Golf Resort:
- Continue for 16 kilometres towards Murcia, it is a dual carriageway. You will see La Torre on the left after 15km (White houses, Palm Trees) you will drive past the resort before you arrive at your exit.
- When you pass a windmill look for an exit junction marked SUCINA, EL GARRUCHA, you will see a BBQ restaurant on the other side of the road, and a flyover bridge up ahead. Take this exit. (Its the first one after you pass the resort).
- Continue to a mini roundabout and take 4th exit, almost turning back on yourself (this brings you up and over the flyover bridge over the dual carriageway, to another mini-roundabout. Take the second exit and take the road to your right marked URBANISATION it is in front of greenhouses and runs parallel with the dual carriageway. Ignore the ‘No Entry’ sign, it has a yellow background and I think it means ‘No Through Road’.
- After 2.5 kilometres a sign to your right says URBANISATION and you will see the entrance to La Torre Golf Resort.
Once at the resort:
- When you pass through the security check, enter large roundabout.Take the 3rd exit onto Salmonete Rd.
- Park half way down the road on the right hand side (about 150 yards) look for Apartment block 6. We are Apartment 2B in this block (lift on your left as you enter).
